This diminutive little modern house sits sandwiched between a car dealership and a creek, which regularly floods. Despite that, it is always neat and taken care of. In all four Google Maps photos from 2008, 2012, 2013, 2018 it is always the same, with the trimmed shrubs out front and the white truck parked next to the white mailbox.
It took me a bit even to find the address as it sits near new business development but I was able to find that it was built in 1968. For the Muncy area where colonial revivals and colonial-esque ranches abound, it stands out (as much as it can at 1,056 sq. ft.) in a good way. Very much like how the Gropius’ used traditional building materials in unique ways in their home, this home uses familiar materials (white clapboards and the stone in that massive chimney) that are evocative of the old farmhouses and buildings that are scattered throughout the surrounding landscape.
