I discovered this house while cruising around on Google Maps looking for another yellow house on Pleasant Street (so many yellow houses that I like!). It stood out like a sore thumb among it’s triple-decker neighbors. It was built in 1804 and was the long-time home of Anna Clapp Harris Smith (+Huntington?? Sidenote: I’ve seen lots of different last name combinations, but her obituary [found here] referred to her as Mrs. Huntington Smith). She is best known for founding the Animal Rescue League of Boston.
In 2009, the house was the lucky subject of Historic Boston project to restore/stabilize the exterior structure, and in 2012, it was purchased by Stacey Cordeiro who kept a blog for a few years documenting her renovation along with some history and lots of pictures that I’ve enjoyed perusing.
