I live only a few miles up the road from this house and I’ve literally never noticed it until it went up for sale recently. According to the real estate listing, the property has been in the same family since the time of William Penn, which is rather glamorous to contemplate. The house itself was built in 1810. You can see how it’s simpler compared to the Long Square Farm house (built even earlier in 1801), especially in its more boxy, solid proportions—it is a deep house!
Looking through the listing, it doesn’t seem like the house has been updated much other than an addition that includes a couple bathrooms. Other than the fact that it’s a bit sad looking—especially those missing attic windows—I can appreciate its un-updated-ness (not a word).
