I grew up going to the Country Store in Pennsdale down the road from the Friends Meeting House. The butchers behind the counter would hand me a stick of bologna to keep me occupied while my mom ordered cuts of meat and to this day, their hot dogs are my absolute favorite.
It was built in 1839 and purchased in 1905 by John Springman who started a general store. After WWII, the store was also the town Post Office until 1985. It’s still run by the Springman’s today (4 generations later!).
I decided to illustrate the older porch (because I like it and it’s an illustration so I can do that) which has been updated as you can see from the Google Maps screenshots.
